2F Second level:Japanese Tobacco

This level describes the history of tobacco in Japan, from its earliest appearance up to the present. From about 1600, shredded tobacco was smoked in long, slender kiseru pipes; after the late nineteenth century renewal of contact with the West, cigarettes came into favour.
